Technical Security

  • Our custodial partner, Bakkt, is secured by both SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 certifications, as well as annual third-party penetration testing.

  • Consumer Bitcoin is held in a separate trust entity regulated by NYDFS. These assets are not used for any other purposes.

  • All of our assets are domiciled in the US, and all our clients are required to be verified US persons.

Legal Security

  • All Bitcoin handling is managed through our partner, Bakkt, an NYDFS Qualified Custodian. Bakkt is accredited with both money transmitter licenses and Bit licenses, setting a standard for accountable, institutional-grade BTC custody.

  • As of December, 2023, Bitcoin is the only digital asset recognized by the CFTC as a commodity. Prologue is committed to working only with assets with a clear regulatory path.

  • All customer fiat is held at a US bank, structurally separate from our Bitcoin custodian. This means that on Prologue no single entity handles your assets across all stages of a transaction, as is done at a centralized exchange. This makes potentinal conflicts of interest structurally impossible as no one party controls the full transaction process.

  • A market spread is assessed by our exchange partner to facilitate the operation of said exchange. This spread is 1%, which is customary in retail equity exchanges

  • Prologue prioritizes security over convenience. Due to the current state of mobile security, we’re erring on the side of caution by offering a desktop-only service.

  • We are currently working to provide a full service product that will allow our users to get exposure to Stocks, Bonds, ETFs, and 401k products.

  • While there are no limits to Bitcoin transfers and transactions, there is a $50,000 limit per cash transfer, and a 3 transfer limit per day.
